Juuri nyt Helsingin On The Rocksissa alkanut Fest In Peace tapahtuma keräsi kaksi metallibändiä pitkään konfliktissa olleilta alueilta, Turkista ja Irakin Kirkukista yhteen.

Fest In Peace on pienimuotoinen spin-off Saksassa järjestetystä Peacecore Festistä, joka kokosi useiden konfliktialueiden metallibändejä samalle lavalle ajatuksenaan nauttia kaikkia osallistujia yhdistävästä asiasta -metallimusiikista – ja kysyä maailmalta ”If we can play together, why can’t you?”

DARK PHANTOM

How would you describe your band in your own words?

Dark Phantom is the first death/trash metal band from Iraq’s Kirkuk region and strives to play the music we love and bring forth our message of peace and brotherhood through our lyrics. The band is not just playing music, we are more like friends and family

How do you feel about performing in this event?

We are so excited to be first time in Finland and also first time in history a Iraqi metal band is performing in Helsinki, makes me so proud. I also feel we have completed a big part of our dreams, since our dream started in one small room and now we meet fans and audience in Finland and for the first time they get to listen to a band from Iraq. This just makes our day so happy and gives us more energy

Favourite song of your own production?

Nation of Dogs, it’s so close to our heart

What would you want to say if the whole world would listen to you for a while?

No one wins in war

INHUMAN DEPRAVITY

How would you describe your band in your own words?

Inhuman Depravity is a music band from Turkey aiming to deliver their listeners a dynamic, catchy and brutal experience of death metal.

How do you feel about performing in this event?

We are more than excited to be a part of Fest in Peace as it is an event that unites metal from different regions of the world and shows that we could headbang together instead of shooting each others heads! And as we will be playing first time ever in Finland and even in Scandinavia, it is special for us in that aspect too.

Favourite song of your own production?

All band members have their own favourites but I think we can get in common to embrace our song Obsessed With The Mummified.

What would you want to say if the whole world would listen to you for a while?

Se! Ah! Soundcheck! One, twooo 🙂

ROJU

How would you describe your band in your own words?

Roju is modern nu-metal band from Finland. Formed in the middle of the pandemic in 2020. Our music is a unique mix of classic nu-metal from the beginning of the millenia, combined with more modern metal influences like djent, thall and metalcore.

How do you feel about performing in this event?

We’re honoured and exited to be able to be a part of this event. The idea of uniting people through metal music is a dream we all share. Metal music is an outlet for everyone and it doesn’t discriminate who you are. When you listen to metal, lift those devil horns to the sky and mosh your head off… there’s nothing more freeing. We cannot wait for tomorrow’s show and hope to see the place full of metalheads uniting as one!

Favourite song of your own production?

Favorite song so far from our own catalogue would be our latest single ”PROPHETS”. It’s a heavy song that has a ton of surprising elements. It’s a song that really encapsulates our newer sound. We’re currently recording new songs and the real ”band favorites” are still in the making.

What would you want to say if the whole world would listen to you for a while?

 ”…seriously?….SERIOUSLY?…”
